LLMs have become incredible learning companions for me.

Since I started using them, my learning speed has increased dramatically.

They almost feel like a real human teachers, you can ask follow-up questions and clarify confusing parts. As a student, I used to find this kind of experience very hard to get.

What I find most valuable is their ability to connect theory with real-world applications—something I always wished my teachers would have done. I don’t know about others, but understanding how a concept applies in real life always makes it click for me.

They are especially strong in subjects like maths, physics, and computer science.

Here are some prompts I often use while learning:

  • Explain [topic] like I’m 5 - helps me get a super simple version of any topic
  • Explain [topic] like I’m a beginner - good for step-by-step learning
  • Give an analogy - helps to visualize the idea
  • What’s the intuition behind [topic]? - helps to understand why something works
  • Write a pseudo-code for [topic] - usually for programming related concepts

However, they still struggle with visual explanations. They are not yet good at translating abstract concepts into clear, visual representations—especially during an ongoing conversation. Hopefully, future versions will bridge this gap and make learning even more immersive.

Also, they are not a replacement for books or other forms of tutorials. Instead, they serve as excellent companions to them, enhancing understanding through interaction and context.

One thing is certain; The future of learning definitely looks bright.
